St. Aidan's Weekly Newsletter
The mission of St. Aidan's is to make disciples by proclaiming Christ as Lord and making a difference in our community.
Second Sunday of Easter 4-8-18

Our guest celebrant on Sunday, April 8, is the Rev. George Wiley. Please extend a hearty hand clasp and a warm welcome to him. Fr. Shawn will return to the office on Wednesday, April 11.
Doubting Thomas

The traditional Gospel reading for the Sunday of Easter Sunday (4-8-18) is the story of the disciple Thomas, who would not accept the truth of Jesus’ resurrection until he had solid proof himself. Is Thomas the hero or the goat of this story? Do we rely on hearsay or direct evidence in living our lives of faith, or is there something else between these poles?
Although the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."
John 20:19
The world can be a frightening place for us. The disciples too had much to fear, but Jesus encourages them, and so us too, to put aside our fear and be at peace within ourselves and with those around us.
Great Grace - One Heart and Soul!

Our Lectionary Readings for the Second Sunday of Easter are: Acts 4:32-35; Psalm 133: 1 John 1:1-2:2; John 20:19-31.

St. Aidan's is sending 5 members to Mega Camp June 3-9 at Camp Wood YMCA
The camp theme this year is Beyond Belief which will help campers ponder the BIG questions about God. What if God is bigger than you ever imagined? What if hope was real? What if you could change the world? Campers will explore how God can be seen in the vastness of creation, the power of community, and even in their own hearts. They’ll also discover how God’s endless love launches amazing adventures and that God always has new mysteries to explore.
