Jesus also told a parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and regarded others with contempt. Luke18:9

A healthy self-concept is a great gift, unless it turns into a self-righteousness that puts others down. A good steward strives always to build others up.

Campaign Prayer
Loving and Gracious God, together with our sisters and brothers in faith, we join in gratitude for the countless blessings you have given to us. Among those blessings is a church home which nurtures and supports our hope. Strengthen that hope that we may give sacrificially of our time, talents, and treasure to our church, to sustain and expand your ministries. Send the blessing of generosity upon each of us. Help us to see how Hope Grows Here this year. Help us to love and care for one another. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

November 3, 10 and 17 Adult Forum: The Art of Grief Ministry...
Presented by Russ Sifers, Pam Gardner and Deacon John Bullock

November Adult education will be a three week series focusing on grief ministry.

Russ has a personal grief ministry in which he ministers to individuals whom he has been led to through prayer and presence. He is in the process of working with Bishop Kemper School of Ministry to create a program of training for both individuals and parishes to provide grief ministry not only to their parish members but to the community.

Pam has a strong background of ministry in the Episcopal Church and has developed a primary ministry that incorporates art. Russ and Pam will be discussing the concept of using Prayer and Study to lead to a very active ministry to others in the area of grief and healing.

By participating in adult forum, you will receive a model for providing one on one grief ministry and ideas for parish ministry. In addition, you will see examples of art used as a basis for prayer, solace and comfort such as prayer flags, prayer cards and quilts. You will also receive a worksheet for creating your own ministry focused pieces of art.
