What Gets God's Goat?
In the Gospel reading for Sunday, March 18, Jesus speaks of glory, death, loving life, losing life, service, and honor. Is there a common theme to Jesus’ seemingly rambling remarks? In the sermon, we try to address this question as we conclude our sermon series “What Gets God’s Goat?”

“Although Christ was a Son, he learned
Obedience through what he suffered.”
Hebrews 5:8
Although suffering is part of life, Christians have always sought to alleviate suffering wherever possible. A steward seeks out ways to soften the difficulties of life for family and friends, for neighbors and those far away.

Food Pantry at St. Paul's in Kansas City, KS
St. Aidan’s has a visible and influential presence at the Food Pantry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Several parishioners faithfully serve each Wednesday by transporting bulk food substances to the pantry and assisting the clients of the pantry. Please see Gloria Kelley (913 201-5820) or Kathie Kleeman (913 620-4832) for more information about the Food Pantry.
Donations for St. Paul’s Food Pantry
Effective on March 31, NourishKC will partner in operating the Pantry; federal guidelines prohibit the Pantry from dividing bulk food individual portions, so please contribute sizes which do not need to be reduced; as always, you can contribute by writing a check to NourishKC and note “St Paul’s Food Pantry” on the memo line.

Our Common Communal Prayer
Gun Violence: During the Season of Lent we as a parish are mourning the death of all victims of gun violence. We are not alone in our concerns and our prayers. There is a March for Our Lives on March 24; please gather at the JC Nichols Memorial Fountain in Kansas City, Missouri, between noon and 1 pm.
Easter Day and Easter Season Flowers

Small Room Off the Narthex
St. Aidan's Family,

In preparation for the all parish clean up day, March 24th, I would like you to consider allowing me to organize and clean the small room off the narthex and convert it to a library/meeting room. I would move the white cabinet into the parish hall under the television so that the Daughters of the King materials, visitors bags, and BackSnack pack supplies are still close at hand.

Fr. Shawn had the original idea and has agreed to let me move the bookcases at the back of the church into this room and to add a few chairs from the sanctuary. I think it would make it a more attractive place as we come into the church and a comfortable place for small groups to gather.

Of course, I need your feedback and approval. If there is serious disagreement, I'll forget this project. No harm, no foul.

Also, I had thought that offering to put fresh flowers on the altar as a celebration or memorial to family and friends might be a good idea, But I'm not sure if or how to make this happen. Since I'm flying blind on this, I would like to hear anybody's opinion. I have checked with florists in the area, and Price Chopper will deliver 2 bouquets every week using our vases for $32-$35/week.

Thanks for your consideration.
Gloria Kelley

April 1: Easter Sunday Worship at 10 am; Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday April 1
Traditionally we have had an Easter Egg hunt for the children in our parish and family friends after the Easter sunday service We decided to keep this tradition, instead of hosting a community Easter Egg hunt the week before.

We do request donations of candy and plastic eggs to fill for our children. Please bring any donations to church the next few weeks before Easter Sunday. We'll be filling those eggs the Saturday before Easter.

Thanks so much!

Episcopal Youth Calendar, Website and News
St. Aidan's is sending 5 members to Mega Camp June 3-9 at Camp Wood YMCA
The camp theme this year is Beyond Belief which will help campers ponder the BIG questions about God. What if God is bigger than you ever imagined? What if hope was real? What if you could change the world? Campers will explore how God can be seen in the vastness of creation, the power of community, and even in their own hearts. They’ll also discover how God’s endless love launches amazing adventures and that God always has new mysteries to explore.
