You Are Welcome At Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church!
We are a loving community of followers of Jesus who worship joyfully in the Episcopal tradition, each other in prayer and fellowship, and serve the community through our outreach ministries. Please stay after worship so we can say hello. Whether it is through participating in the worship on Sunday morning, or through serving as the hands and feet of Jesus to the world by our outreach ministries, we know that you’ll find a home here at St Aidan’s!!!

Hand To The Plow - Sunday, June 30

In the Gospel reading from Luke, Jesus advises his followers to avoid distractions and to keep focused solely on the Kingdom of God. On Sunday, June 30, we discuss a proven method to keep that focus.
Someone said to Jesus, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus responded, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." Luke 9:57-58

It doesn't sound like Jesus was complaining...he was simply observing that he had chosen to share the lot of those who were poor in the eyes of the world. Nor does he demand that his followers do the same. No, they are simply told to proclaim the kingdom of God. How are we to do that? That is a question we must each answer for ourselves.

Annual Underwear Drive for Olathe Schools through July 28
Even though it seems as though school just got out, we are close to our annual Underwear Drive for Olathe school children of all ages. We will also do the shopping for you – just write “Underwear” on the memo line of a check to the church. Last year we collected well over our goal of 415 pair of underwear thanks to the generosity of St Aidan’s. Please see Kathy Mencer (913 592-5413) for details.

NEW PARISH DIRECTORY!
We are in the process of putting together a new picture Parish Directory, and this time you get to choose the photograph of yourself that you would like included in the directory.

Please email those photos to the church at staidansolathe@sbcglobal.net by Thursday, August 1.

There is no truth to the rumor that if you do not submit a photo, a group of high school boys will scour the internet looking for silly pictures to use as your personal photo (check out this darling). Well, there might be some truth to the rumor, so please submit those photos for our new directory! Blessings.
