If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. John 14:15-16
The Advocate, whom we usually call the Holy Spirit, is a constant guide for us, a constant encouragement to love God, our neighbor and ourselves. The Advocate will be with us forever, guiding, encouraging, uplifting, caring.
Announcement Updates
Search Committee
The Vestry has interviewed the final candidate. The Search Committee and the Vestry are unanimous in the decision. The announcement will be made as soon as the legal documents are signed in May. This is still in process.

Vestry
The Vestry met this week to discuss re-opening St. Aidan's. Please look for a survey to be sent through Unison next week. We want your feedback about re-opening in June.
Church Renovations
Church renovations remain the same and are still continuing... Hopefully all will be completed by the time we open.
Also, there is a gray 4-drawer filing cabinet in the Narthex for anyone who wants it.
Backsnacks
BackSnack Packing will continue through the Summer! Watch for upcoming changes and details from Don Seifert.
The Connecting Team
Thank you for the "connecting" pictures you have sent in! It's great seeing all your faces! Please keep the pictures coming.

Thanksgivings and Prayers - May 17, 2020

Thanksgivings –
We give thanks for the birthday of James Bush, and the anniversaries of Phil & Nikki Crowell and Jay & Tajuania Walters. We give thanks for the people of St. Aidan’s and the privilege of serving each other, our church and our community throughout the year.

Cycle of Prayer –
In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Melanesia; in the World Council of Churches Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the people of Kenya and Tanzania; and in the Kansas Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for St. Margaret's, Lawrence.

For Our Parish Leadership –
We pray for the members of the Vestry: Senior Warden Julie Wojtas, Junior Warden Don Hutchinson, Jane Bush, Mark Sappenfield, Sarah Smith and Kathy Mencer; for the Vestry Clerk, Carolyn Sturgeon; for our Treasurer, Tim Tatlock; and for our delegates, Don Hutchinson and Carolyn Sturgeon, and our Alternate, Sarah Smith.

For Our Troops, Veterans, and Law Enforcement –
Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women in the service and law enforcement at home and abroad. Defend them with your grace; give them courage; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence; through Jesus Christ. Amen.

For the Departed –
Eternal Lord God, you hold all souls in life: Give to your whole Church in paradise and on earth your light and your peace; and grant that all your faithful people may at the last enter into your unending joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Guidance and Grace
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 For Healing –
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servants, and give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs, that those for whom our prayers are offered may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
