The mission of St. Aidan's is to make disciples by proclaiming Christ as Lord and making a difference in our community.
Sunday Worship at St. Aidan's ...
10 am: Worship, Children's Chapel and Nursery
You Are Welcome At Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church!
We are a loving community of followers of Jesus who worship joyfully in the Episcopal tradition, each other in prayer and fellowship, and serve the community through our outreach ministries. Please stay after worship so we can say hello. Whether it is through participating in the worship on Sunday morning, or through serving as the hands and feet of Jesus to the world by our outreach ministries, we know that you’ll find a home here at St Aidan’s!!!
Reception for The Reverend Canon Torey Lightcap and The Reverend John Bullock on Sunday, July 7.
St. Aidan's is especially blessed to have The Reverend Canon Torey Lightcap and The Reverend John Bullock with us on Sunday, July 7. Canon Lightcap will be our celebrant and is also delivering the sermon. Reverend Bullock is now serving as our Deacon. Come welcome them to St. Aidan's.
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks for ever!

Our readings for Sunday, July 7 are: 2 Kings 5:1-14; Psalm 30; Galatians 6:1-16; Luke 10:1-11, 16-20.

"Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

As faithful stewards we bear one another’s burdens by doing good to all, both the household of faith and the community around us. We are to care for each other, to bring encouragement, hope and life to one another. Meeting other people’s needs as they are known is one of life’s greatest blessings.

June 30: Farewell Reception for Father Shawn and Marcia Streepy
On Sunday, June 30, we said a bittersweet farewell to Father Shawn and Marcia Streepy. After serving six years as St. Aidan's priest, Father Shawn has retired. We have been blessed by and enjoyed both Fr. Shawn and Marcia for these past six years. They will be greatly missed!

Thank you Carolyn Sturgeon for the pictures!
NEW PARISH DIRECTORY!
We are in the process of putting together a new picture Parish Directory, and this time you get to choose the photograph of yourself that you would like included in the directory.

Please email those photos to the church at staidansolathe@sbcglobal.net by Thursday, August 1.

There is no truth to the rumor that if you do not submit a photo, a group of high school boys will scour the internet looking for silly pictures to use as your personal photo (check out this darling). Well, there might be some truth to the rumor, so please submit those photos for our new directory! Blessings.
CROSS-LINES Is Hiring!
Cross-Lines is a community outreach organization that helps those in need in multiple ways, from food to job search skills. They currently have two openings for full-time positions. If you or someone you know is interested, information is available at their website, cross-lines.org.

Thanks,
Paul Reed

Annual Underwear Drive for Olathe Schools through July 28
Even though it seems as though school just got out, we are close to our annual Underwear Drive for Olathe school children of all ages. We will also do the shopping for you – just write “Underwear” on the memo line of a check to the church. Last year we collected well over our goal of 415 pair of underwear thanks to the generosity of St Aidan’s. Please see Kathy Mencer (913 592-5413) for details.
Toiletry Items for Homeless Shelters

Know how good a cool shower feels on a warm day? Share that feeling with the homeless in our midst. Please bring personal-size toiletry items and put them in the basket in the entryway. Blessings.
