I'D LIKE YOUR HELP - SHERRY SUDDARTH!
Some of you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. I've had surgery and I am now in radiation treatments, (30) total. Even with insurance I am in need of financial support from my church family. Any donation is appreciated, and as always prayers are much needed. My prognosis is excellent.

I'd love it if you took a moment to check out my GoFundMe campaign:
Ministry at St. Aidan's ...
Outreach Ministries
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father,
is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their affliction,
and to keep oneself unstained by the world.  James 1:27
Back-to-School Underwear Drive: Each summer, we donate more than 250 pair of underwear for school children of all ages as we assist the Olathe School District program through donations, purchases, and participation. please put them in the trunk in the garden in the nave. More info will be coming.

Johnson County Food Ministry at the Center of Grace: We love God and our neighbors by preparing and serving the community meal at the Center of Grace, 520 S. Harrison, Olathe, once a month; Next Center of Grace ministry is Thursday, September 27. Cooks should arrive at 2 pm; servers at 5 pm; clean-up crew at 6 pm. See Barb Belt (913 515-9001) for more information.

BackSnack Packing for Elementary Schools:  You might have noticed the notes and drawings on the western wall of Sifers Hall when you come for Adult Forum before worship or share some fellowship and snacks with others after worship. These are thank you notes from some of the elementary school children who benefit from the BackSnack Program through the school year; these are notes written specifically to the good people of Saint Aidan’s for their faithful support of the program.

The BackSnack Program provides healthy snacks for eligible school children through a program administered by the school system, Harvester’s, and organizations such as St. Aidan’s. On Wednesday we pick up the boxes containing the packaged snacks at the Olathe School Resource Center in the early afternoon, and then at 5 pm we meet in Sifers Hall to “pack” the backsnacks in plastic bags which are then placed back in the boxes for delivery to five area elementary schools the next morning. Volunteers from St. Aidan’s then deliver the boxes of snacks to the respective elementary schools the next morning (they load the boxes either Wednesday afternoons after packing or Thursday morning before delivery.

We have reached out to other churches in the area to assist with the packing on Wednesday afternoons and encourage more parishioners to give half an hour of their time on Wednesday afternoons to pitch in and help pack – we guarantee a good time doing a good thing for some good children!! We are also reaching out to the parish for additional drivers. We need two more drivers on Thursday mornings to deliver BackSnacks in order to continue this important and beneficial ministry to the children of the community. Please see either BackSnack Coordinator Don Seifert (913 208-7393) or Father Shawn (913 660-5647) for more information – thank you and God bless you!

Toiletries for Cross-Lines: We are now collecting toiletry items in the entryway for Cross-Lines in Kansas City, Kansas, a community outreach organization which provides laundry service and shower facilities among its services.

Angel Tree: A ministry of Prison Fellowship, Angel Tree provides Christmas presents for the children of an incarcerated parent on behalf of the parent. Last year over twenty parishioners participated in purchasing, wrapping, and delivering Christmas gifts to fifteen children in the program.

Rector’s Discretionary Fund: Through its generous gifts on the first Sunday of each month, the parish supports the Rector financially assisting distressed individuals and charitable organizations such as the Alleluia Fund.
