Thoughts from Fr. Steve

What should we do about Lent?

I have heard masses of people wrestle with that simple question. What are they going to give up?! In my younger years I once gave up ice cream and regretted it almost immediately when I realized that my brother and grandfather celebrated birthdays in March and that I would be missing out on my grandfather’s amazing homemade vanilla. I never did that again! I have also given up watermelon, just because it is out of season!

The better question may be, “What are you going to take on during Lent?” Today, with many of us dealing with crammed calendars and agendas, this could be a challenge! I don’t want to add to an already full list! But what if I said that you can add something and not overstress what you already are balancing, in fact it could make life easier and more joyful! Would you be willing to try it?!

Perhaps, if you are willing to just come on 5 Wednesday nights during Lent, (March12,19,26, April 2&9) around 6:00 PM at St. Aidan’s and if you bring your favorite soup or salad to share, I can take some time to reveal how you can take on something that will change how you live your daily life and every relationship you currently have! It will change your life!

Come join us for some good food, fun fellowship, and some added insight to our busy lives that will provide meaningful awareness of who we are in a relationship with God.
