We give thanks for the birthdays of Tom Taylor, Mercedes Juache and Sarah Smith.
Then Jesus said, "There was a man who had two sons." Luke 13:8
We immediately recognize this introduction to the parable of the prodigal son. It represents such an ordinary but complex situation...how to balance competing interests and values. Stewards always strive for balance, measuring how best to care for all the persons and situations they encounter.

"Celebrating God's World: the Earth, the People and Their Faith"
Friday, April 22, is the 50th Anniversary of the first Earth Day. Taking advantage of that, most of our program Friday evening will focus on creation care.
On Saturday, April 23 we will focus on interfaith issues. In this everchanging world, it is more and more important to follow the words of this quote from Sr. Joan Chittister: "Nothing will bring world peace faster than the opening of our lives to cultures and religions unlike ours."
Episcopal Relief & Development is partnering with Anglican agencies and other ecumenical partners to provide humanitarian aid in response to the refugee crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. Sustaining Earth, Our Island Home
“I would like to share with you an initiative from the National Episcopal Church's office of the Most Rev. Michael Curry. "Sustaining Earth, Our Island Home" tackles the Episcopal Church's pledge for the care of creation and provides support for individuals and parishes seeking to take those incremental steps toward living in a more sustainable, moral manner when it comes to the impact we have upon the Earth and our capacity to continue to live on it. To paraphrase Bishop Bascom the biggest environmental problems are not biodiversity, water usage, or climate change but greed, selfishness, and apathy.
To learn more about this program, please visit http://www.sustainislandhome.org/ and enroll yourself in this program. Please remember to list St. Aidan’s, Olathe as your parish. Our Bishop will reward the parish with the most participation.”
