You Are Welcome At Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church!
We are a loving community of followers of Jesus who worship joyfully in the Episcopal tradition, each other in prayer and fellowship, and serve the community through our outreach ministries. Please stay after worship so we can say hello. Whether it is through participating in the worship on Sunday morning, or through serving as the hands and feet of Jesus to the world by our outreach ministries, we know that you’ll find ahomehere at St Aidan’s!!!
Brunch and Reception for Fr. Shawn and Marcia Streepy Sunday, June 30
Sunday, June 30, is Father Shawn’s last Sunday after six years at Saint Aidan’s. There will be a brunch before worship from 8:15 am to 9: 45 am, and a reception after worship starting at 11:00 am for Fr. Shawn and Marcia Streepy.
Your Way, O God Is Holy!
Our readings for Sunday, June 30 are: 2 Kings 12:1-2, 6-14; Psalm 77:1-2, 11-20; Galatians 5:1, 13-25; Luke 9:51-62
In the Gospel reading from Luke, Jesus advises his followers to avoid distractions and to keep focused solely on the Kingdom of God. On Sunday, June 30, we discuss a proven method to keep that focus.
Someone said to Jesus, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus responded, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." Luke 9:57-58
It doesn't sound like Jesus was complaining...he was simply observing that he had chosen to share the lot of those who were poor in the eyes of the world. Nor does he demand that his followers do the same. No, they are simply told to proclaim the kingdom of God. How are we to do that? That is a question we must each answer for ourselves.
