The Gospel reading for November 26 is Jesus' parable of the Sheep and the Goats from Matthew 25: this was Jesus' final public teaching in Jerusalem during the last week of his earthly life, and it seems to state that we are judged according to our actions and not our trust in Jesus. Or does it? Come worship at Saint Aidan's on Sunday, November 26, at 10 am, as we look at the liberating message of Jesus' last parable. God bless you.

The cities of Napa, Sonoma, and Santa Rosa in northern California has been ravaged by wild fires travelling down from the arid mountains pushed by winds topping speeds of eighty miles an hour. Neighborhoods which residents thought safe from the maelstrom
have been incinerated in a matter of minutes, with their inhabitants racing for their lives ahead of the flames. Unfortunately, not all of the people have escaped: at the time of this message, 31 people have died from the wild fires.
The Church of the Incarnation, an Episcopal Church in Santa Rosa, has a link on its website for donations to the Santa Rosa Fire Relief Fund. 100% of the money raised will be used to relieve the devastation caused by the fires and assist those who have lost their homes. You can donate at the website - https://incarnationsantarosa.org. We will also have a table in the entryway after worship for contributions. If you would like to write a check, please make it payable to Saint Aidan's and note "Santa Rosa Fire Relief" on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity. From hurricanes to earthquakes to wild fires, this has been a challenging season in the northern hemisphere. My prayer is that we all see these cataclysms as an opportunity to be more appreciative of God's blessings to us and generous with what God has given us. Thank you and God bless you.

Attached is a link to a message from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry about the violent and senseless murder of 59 innocent people and the wounding of over 500 more. I pray that you find some solace and inspiration in Bishop Curry's words as we all struggle to understand what happened and seek to find ways we can help. God bless you.

Both before and after worship this Sunday we will have a special table set up in the narthex (church talk for entryway) to collect contributions for Disaster Relief for the people of Puerto Rico. The magnitude of the devastation from Hurricane Maria and the time and effort which it will take for the people of Puerto Rico to recover is becoming more clear and overwhelming each day (I have included a link to an article below). Thank you for your support of the humanitarian efforts to help the people of Puerto Rico recover from this unprecedented disaster.
I know that everyone will give sacrificially, but here is an extra incentive for generosity: Darlene Kincaid is bring extra-special delicious treats on Sunday; when you give to the Puerto Rico Disaster Relief you will get a yellow ticket admitting you to the parish hall. If you try to leave without availing yourself of Darlene's culinary delights, you have to get two yellow tickets by donating to the Puerto Rico Disaster Fund first.
Thank you and God bless you, and God help - through our efforts and the efforts of others - the people of Puerto Rico.
